WhatsApp, as the most popular chatting platform in the world with billions of users from several countries is still rolling out new features after it recently included the ability to share PDF file among whatsapp users.
In March 2016, text formating features were available on the beta version when it was been tested but now, this new features has been officially rolled out on the latest WhatsApp version v2.12.535 and above.
The text formatting that is now supported on Whatsapp now allow users to beautify their writings while chatting. Among the text formats available are adding bold letters, adding _italics_ and -strikethrough-
HOW WHATSAPP TEXT FORMATING WORKS
==> To bold a word or sentence, just add an asterisk to either sides of the word or sentence: *bold*
==> To italicize a word or sentence, just add an underscore to either sides of the word or sentence: _italics_
==> To strikethrough a word or sentence, add a tilde to either sides of the word or sentence: ~strikethrough~

The above tricks can be combined also while chatting by adding the respective symbols as stated above.
Another noticeable feature in the latest version of WhatsApp is that when you receive a message from someone, his or her name will be bolded unlike before. So to enjoy this features, kindly download the latest update from google Playstore.
Meanwhile, am not still satisfied with WhatsApp until they include the feature that allows users to share android apps (apk) and also retract messages.
