Yesterday, Ntel launched their LTE service in Lagos and Abuja which is 8th April, also Port Harcourt will join in the fun, in May. Interesting. They went ahead to display the first call 📞 made at their unique phone number which is the 0804. The test VoLTE call was made at 3:30, at Ntel's new Tier III data centre located on Lagos Island.
They are offering their “Pioneers” (first 100,000 people to activate their ntel SIMs) free on-net calls for life. They’ve also promised up to 230Mbps internet speeds (whut?), and unlimited data for 3 months.
However, there is still no news from Ntel, nither from their official website to let people know on how to get the Ntel SIM cards in those cities. Although they opened a platform where people can reserve a number and claim it later but to see the SIM physically has been like a hell.
What is not yet confirmed about the free on-net call is whether it will be for all networks or Ntel to Ntel lines only.
Lofty promises. Big talk. What I’d like to see, is how well they can keep to them when the customers come in their numbers.
Imagine you are downloading stuffs at 230Mbps, that's superfast. Can't wait for that, and those of you that haven't gotten your 4G LTE smartphones, I think it time to get yours.
