Just of recent twitter announced a new update to the Android and iOS apps that are going to be rolling out over the next few days via the App Store and Google Play Store. Within the update, there is a new share button in the app. This share button allows you to share tweets with others, without it being public. So if you see an embarrassing tweet you want to share, you can do that pretty easily with this update, and do it pretty discreetly as well.

DM Sharing is the latest from Twitter in updating their direct messaging system. They recently expanded the number of characters that you can use in DM’s from 140 to about 10,000. This way you don’t need to send a ton of DM’s over to other users when you have something long to say. Twitter also recently introduced the GIF button, so you can send GIF’s on Twitter, as well as in DM’s at the touch of a button. All of this is an attempt to bring more users into Twitter and to keep them in Twitter. The company has been looking for ways to get their users to use Twitter more and more, and it appears that they have found a few ways to do so. With Moments launching not too long ago, to help you stay up to date with all of the happenings in the world.

The way it works is, you now have a Direct Message icon next to the reply, retweet and like icons on each tweet. So you’ll just tap on that new icon. search for the person you want to send it to – usually your most contacted friends will be at the top – choose the person you want to send it to, and you’re all set. It’s pretty simple, in fact it may be too simple
